EB-CA Services

The European Bridge-CA offers numerous services with the help of which existing PKI-islands can easily be connected with each other. It does not matter whether participating organizations use certificates of a public trust center or issue their certificates themselves.

The services required when admitted a new European Bridge-CA member are the following:

• Accomplishment of an interoperability test
• Qualitative evaluation of the policy (CP/CPS/PDS)
• Signature of a contract and a self-statement
• Inclusion of certificates in the signed list of the European Bridge-CA
• Distribution of the signed list
• Public provision of the signed list

Futhermore, participating organizations can combine single services on their own responsibility and integrate them in their applications. This enables the establishment of a flexible architecture which is both future-oriented and cost-saving at the same time, because existing technologies and new ones can be combined.

Currently, additional services are:

• Repository Service
• Validation Service

When applying X.509 certificates, these services can be integrated into arbitrary applications in order to improve utilization and quality and to considerably enhance the effectivity of the automatic processing of X.509 certificates.

In agreement with our members we are working on plans for other services.
